lunch at Eataly
On Thursday, I had a fantastic lunch at Eataly. Eataly is both an Italian market and eatery, so you can shop for pasta, fish, cheese etc and enjoy a great meal. I had lunch at La Piazza, which serves many different types of pizza. I ordered the Ventura pizza, a prosciutto pizza with arugula. Personally, I am a big fan of prosciutto pizza, but the fresh ingredients (most of which you can purchase at the market) easily made it my favorite. Not the biggest pizza fan? No problem, you can dine at La Pasta, Terra or enjoy some ice cream and coffee! After lunch, I walked around the various pasta, fish, candy, cheese, fruit, and meat markets. I ended up buying some pasta for dinner, and some candy for my friends. What makes the market special is the fact that it really brings out your inner chef. Eataly inspires customers to cook, and try new Italian dishes with their wide variety of ingredients. My whole life, I have enjoyed bonding over food with family and friends, and I feel that Eataly encourages that same bond with their markets. Heading to Eataly soon? Here are some tips:
1) If you plan on dining at one of the restaurants come during the week or put your name on the waitlist. Eataly L.A. is super busy because it's amazing, so make sure to come at a "random" time, like Thursday afternoon or put your name down and do some shopping, then head back to the restaurant.
2) Try a new dish! With so many ingredients available at the market, google an Italian recipe and gather the ingredients at Eataly! You will have a great time shopping and are trying something new!
3) Get the gelato...its so good! And make sure to get it with the whipped cream!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post!
